Die TW200 Yamaha-motorfiets is ՚n lekker speelding vir jou plaas, maar sodra jy hom aangeskaf het, kom jy agter dat hy ook gebruik kan word om talle takies rats en goedkoop af te handel.

Boys should their toys, even the farmer, and if the toys also bring joys to the whole family, even better when Yamaha is the brand – then it also becomes a dependable workhorse suitable for many niggling, exasperating jobs on the farm.

The Yamaha exhibition area at the NAMPO 2019 Show was bigger and they could accommodate all their products. This included motorcycles, marine engines, power generators, lawnmowers, water pumps and golf carts. The new Kymco range, launched recently, was also on show.

“Yamaha is a well-known brand and gives the farmer value for his money,” says Mark Roach, Yamaha dealer-support manager for motorcycles and ATVs (All Terrain Vehicles). “Yamahas are dependable, durable and of the highest quality, and Yamaha dealers are all over South Africa. All the visitors to our exhibit wanted to hear the motorcycles; they couldn’t resist listening to that roarrr!”

The Yamaha TW200 motorcycle:

Yamaha unveiled a new T7-motorcycle in February this year.  “But”, says Mark, “our agricultural bike, the TW200, is definitely a diehard and has been part of the Yamaha range for more than 20 years. It has definitely become a legend.”

The big, wide tyres of the bike ensures good traction and riding comfort over any terrain and makes the TW200 the most adaptable dual purpose machine on the market. A Low seat and compact chassis goes a long way for the self-confidence of the person who’s in the TW200 driving seat. This makes the model one of the most user-friendly and comfortable off-road bikes on the market. The electric self-starter makes it easy for the farmer – no need to kick-start. The hydraulic front disc brake ensures better stopping power with less effort when the farmer tends to get carried away in hilly country.

More advantages:

  • The long off-road style seat creates a balanced riding position for optimal riding control and comfort;
  • Footrests for a passenger makes it possible to carry a passenger with ease;
  • Fitted with a low maintenance battery; and
  • The warranty is valid for 6 to 24 months and only applicable if the bike was bought at a Yamaha-accredited dealer.

The Yamaha XTO 425 marine engine:

Melvin Victor, the Yamaha dealer support manager for Gauteng and the Western Cape marine section, shows what a ‘beast’ of a formidable marine engine looks like.

The sheer physical size of the XTO 425 engine was cause for much comment at NAMPO. “You will definitely not have a problem propelling your boat with this V8, 5,6-litre engine of 313 kW,” says Melvin Victor, the Yamaha marine dealer support manager for Gauteng and the Western Cape.

“The engine was designed to provide the highest thrust on water. It has the highest compression ratio, an electrical steering wheel system, and it is durable and dependable. A farming boat-lover will certainly be able to tow a number of skiing enthusiasts simultaneously with this monster.”

The XTO 425 marine engine was very popular at the NAMPO Show. With its 313 kW power it is able to tow a number of skiers simultaneously.

More features:

  • Available in two colours – grey and white;
  • Available with Helm Master® and SetPoint, which makes control easy and keeps the boat in position automatically; and
