The Evolution of golf carts with Smith Power Equipment

Smith Power Equipment Evolution
The perfect golf cart is hard to find. The list of specifications that people demand can be long and diverse. This is why Smith Power Equipment provides the Evolution range of golf carts. These are golf carts that offer the solution to everything you need.
From comfort to practicality, Evolution golf carts have it all. Smith Power Equipment provides the D5 Maverick and D5 Ranger and has now introduced the D-Max GT4 Golf Cart to the South African market. These are luxury golf carts that are priced well below other options on the market, without sacrificing quality.
The D-Max GT4 is the newest addition to the South African market, having been introduced around seven months ago. It offers features that few other golf carts on the market have.
Andrew Neil, golf cart Sales Manager from Smith Power Equipment, explains, “This has been designed for the US market. It’s completely bespoke, offering features that are meant for more than just the golf club, it’s a replacement for a vehicle on any short trip.”

D-Max GT4 mechanics and exterior features
The D-Max GT4 uses a 6,3 kW motor with an EM brake, which means that it generates power to charge the battery when going downhill. This strong motor also have a towing capacity of 750 kg, which allows the cart to pull a small trailer or other equipment.
While the tow hook itself is not included, the hookup equipment is also included with the plug. “This allows buyers to install their own towing hook when they want to. But we also include a trunk in the rear,” Andrew says.
Andrew is referring to the rear of the cart where up to four golf bags can be transported, as opposed to the standard configuration in which the cart has a removable cooler bag that functions as the rear trunk. The cooler enables the D-Max GT4 to carry two golf bags alongside food, groceries, and extra gear.
The cooler sits on a pull-out tray but can be removed, to enable the Evolution to carry up to four golf bags at once.
“But that’s not all, above the golf bags is a pull-out shelf. It has extendable bars and a basket that functions as even further storage. When you’re not playing golf, you can go do a round of shopping with this.”
Andrew does point out that while the D-Max is completely street legal in the United States (US), the same does not apply to South Africa because of the left-hand steering wheel and local laws that restrict these vehicles on the road. However, in closed communities and other special areas, they can still be used on the road.
“It has lights and everything, rear lights, indicators, and headlights that are as effective as any car. It’s meant to work as a replacement for your car.” Andrew points out. The cart has a restricted top speed in South Africa of 40 km/h.

The interior features of the D-Max GT4
While the D-Max GT4 does not have doors, each seat has an armrest that can be lifted for easy access. Four leather seats offer world-class comfort along with fully functional three-point harness seatbelts.
“This means you’re perfectly safe while driving this, but I think the infotainment system is really spectacular here. It has 24 speakers, 20 on the roof, and four below the seats. Along with the 10,1-inch touchscreen that has Apple CarPlay, it’s a complete entertainment system.”
This system includes a wireless charging station to ensure that your phones never run out of battery. There are also additional USB-C charging ports for rear passengers to use when needed.
“Of course, one of the defining features of the Evolution D-Max GT4 carts is the included refrigerator built into the dashboard. Under the wireless charger is a small fridge that comfortably fits six soda cans.”
