In 1984, Chris Botha, started his engineering workshop on Graspan Farm, Hennenman Free State, while still farming. He was the third generation farming on Graspan.

With his Technical and Mechanical background combined with farming, his Engineering Company grew every year. He build up his business and under the name of “Landkoop Ingenieurswerke” and soon was manufacturing parts for companies like Vetsak Co-op during the 1990’s 

In 2003, the first Iron Closing Wheel was developed by him and his son, Christoff Botha. In 2005 the famous “Rolegtand” was designed which was a breakthrough to roll Sunflowers successfully. This Rotary Hoe (Rolegtand) is still today one of the most top selling units and is used to roll various grains

Christoff Botha started his engineering career in 2003, and with 16 years hands-on experience he is now running the production, design and development for the family business.

In 2012 The concept “Riptill” was born. The difference between Riptill (300mm and deeper) and Striptill (0 to 300mm) ,where you have the same seedbed on your topsoil as that of striptilling, but a deeper loosening of under soil. From thereon, their range of tillage equipment expanded and Christine Bouwer(Botha) started Ripper Tillage Equipment in 2013. As the demand grew for Conservation Tillage, so did the family business expanded and is now one of the favourite suppliers of tillage equipment in the agricultural sector. Most of their tillage equipment is custom made to the farmer’s soil conditions and requirements.

Christine Bouwer(Botha) is the technical Marketer of the company and work closely with the farmers in the field through a consultative approach.
