Ntahba Nyoni Cattle

NBOR 17-17
Their Stud farming journey started after Cyril Ramaphosa’s attraction to the Ankole Cattle when he visited Uganda in 2003. Following his irresistible attraction to the Ankole he bought 40 cows and 3 bulls from President Museveni.
The embryo’s of these cattle were finally brought to South Africa and they are the foundation of the Ankole stud cattle that are in South Africa today.
“In the course of bringing Ankole to South Africa we also brought Boran embryos and started a Boran Stud herd. Ntahba Nyoni have continued to see great value in stud farming focusing on acquiring the best genetics and breeding good quality cattle,” says Jessica Phathela, breeding manager of Ntahba Nyoni.
Ntahba Nyoni have hosted more than five successful production auctions and in 2021 they sold an Ankole cow for R2 million.
Their next auction is 5 March 2022, 11:00 at the PHALA-PHALA WILDLIFE (BELA BELA). 16 Ankole, 30 bonsmara SP and 30 Boran SP will be on offer.
