Rescomp markets the best quality equipment for sports shooting, hunting and self-defence.
The possibility of a farm attack at any time, day or night, is the grim reality faced by every South African farmer and his family, says Franco Resca, owner of RHT in Pretoria, who works hard at playing his part in helping farmers to sleep easier by providing protection services and products for the farm – protecting the lives of people and animals and safe-guarding property.
Franco founded the family business in 1991, initially to design and manufacture special holsters for sport shooting enthusiasts. The undertaking grew over the past 28 years and presently the business caters for a wide variety of clients. All products marketed by RHT are of local manufacture and the firm is also a registered armourer and do gun repairs.
“All the members of my staff are excellent marksmen and can give practical advice as they use all the products in our shop for their own purposes,” says Franco.
The RHT team demand only the best quality products from their suppliers, so they can sell only the best that is on the market to the farmer. “We are not shy of giving a guarantee when selling any of our products!”
The message Franco wants to give to the farmer is that they have the safety of farmers and their kin at heart because they feel they want to assist in ensuring sustainable food production. “I believe we can play that part with our self-defence approach as the main focus of the business,” says Franco.

Apart from weapons as such, RHT also stock a wide range of weapon accessories, extra magazines, safety lighting, and holsters of their own design. Franco himself developed their flagship holster – the SECURE3 – and developed it over the years to a product suitable for self-defence, sports shooting and even military purposes.
“Our shop is not just another gun shop – we exhibit every year at the international Shot Show in the USA – one of the biggest weapon fairs in the world,” says Franco.
