Linhai and Polaris build on continued excellence in South Africa

Smith Power Equipment at NAMPO Cape 2026
Smith Power Equipment is providing new Linhai and Polaris vehicles to the South African market.
When it comes to finding small, powerful vehicles that can easily traverse farms, roads and harder-to-reach locations, Linhai and Polaris are excellent options. Smith Power Equipment showcased a wide range of these vehicles at NAMPO Cape 2026.
Speaking with Smith Power Equipment National Sales Manager Craig Tutton, we learned more about the options available from Linhai and Polaris. Tutton explained how Linhai’s electric range of vehicles is perfect for small and large farms and that Polaris vehicles continue to be some of the best off-road offerings on the market.

The Landforce series of quad bikes from Smith Power Equipment is ready to take on some of the toughest terrain imaginable.
Linhai continues to provide innovative solutions
Starting with the Linhai line of electric vehicles (EVs), the brand has been continuing to expand in South Africa. The E-Archon is an all-electric side-by-side that boasts a 230 Ah lithium battery with a range of 100 km.
“This unit is taking the market by storm. Nothing can compete with it in its price range, and, for that specific reason, we’ve sold out containers as they hit South Africa,” Tutton explained before we moved on to the more familiar Landforce range.
These are compact quad bikes that boast a range of features that appeal directly to the South African market. The Landforce 550 and 650 are petrol-powered all-terrain vehicles, with 500 cc and 580 cc engines respectively, that can be accessorised to fit your needs.
Linhai also boasts smaller vehicles that are perfect for tasks that require a quick response but do not demand power. Smith Power Equipment also supplies the South African market with the Rustler and Promax lines.

The RZR range has recently been reintroduced to the South African market.
Polaris leads the side-by-side market for a reason
Tutton proudly tells us that the Polaris range of vehicles continues to lead the side-by-side market, with the RZR range maintaining a prominent position. The brand has been in South Africa for many years, and Smith Power Equipment has been the distributor spearheading this market lead.
He explains that because Polaris is a premium product in such a small package, farmers countrywide have always been interested in their products.
“The Polaris range is built for extreme conditions. It has a strong clutch, can tow maximum capacities that exceed other ranges, and the full-size units run on the same tracks as a bakkie. That helps our farmers in tough conditions,” he explains. Smith Power Equipment reintroduced the Polaris RZR range in South Africa earlier this year.
The smallest in the RZR line-up, the 2026 RZR XP S 1000 Sport boasts a 1 000 cc, 114-horsepower engine at only R550 000, including VAT. He explains that these are turning out to be just as popular as their other products: “I’ve had six arrive in the country recently; we’ve already sold four of them and it’s taken the market by storm. We are market leaders for a reason …”
Smith Power Equipment will continue to supply South African farmers with all their vehicle needs.
