Bayer's stand at NAMPO 2022.

After two challenging years, Bayer was once again at this leading African agricultural exhibition.

This year Bayer Crop Science sported a revamped stand at Nampo Harvest Day near Bothaville, Free State, and profiled some exciting newly registered products and its Climate Fieldview digital platform.

Apart from Bayer Crop Science’ range of seed hybrids, seed traits and crop protection products, visitors to Nampo were able to take a closer look at new technology and innovations recently launched into the market.
With a strong focus on innovation and digital technology, Bayer proves why it is an industry leader in this space.

Breaking ground in soybean technology

Bayer introduced a new trait in soybeans at its launch earlier this year. This is the first new trait to be introduced to the South African soybean market in 20 years.

The commercial launch in 2022 comes after Bayer’s general release (cultivation) application for Intacta® Roundup®Ready2 Pro had been approved by the South African regulatory authority on July 29, 2021.
The introduction of Intacta RR2 PRO® brings a new choice in insect control and convenience to farmers increasing productivity, efficiency and value leading to yields of higher quality and quantity.

Intacta RR2 PRO® technology holds three key benefits that make this trait combination stand out in the market:

• Protection against major pests that attack soybeans like African bollworm
(Helicoverpa armigera).
• Increased yield potential through repositioned herbicide trait on the soybean DNA to maximise yield.
• Improved tolerance to glyphosate herbicide provided by Roundup® Ready 2 (RR2) Technology.

Leading farm software platform Climate Fieldview™, a data-driven platform designed to analyze the producer’s farming needs, allows the farmer to better utilize inputs and natural resources.

Our experts were on hand at Nampo to discuss the features and benefits of this smart system that is taking the farming world by storm. Launched in South Africa last year, Climate Fieldview™ is the ideal data partner to
seamlessly collect, store, and visualize critical field data, monitor and measure the impact of agronomic decisions on crop performance, and manage field variability by building customized fertility and seeding plans for fields to optimize yield and maximize profit.

By using the digital point of view FieldView™ provides, we help farmers see their farms more clearly and in depth, allowing them to maximize their productivity through data analysis.

To help farmers answer the challenge of feeding a growing world, we are focused on helping them get their data in one place, uncover valuable field insights, and optimize their inputs. From planting to harvest, Climate FieldView™ helps farmers make informed decisions all year long.
